When it comes to the battle between natural and synthetic skincare products for teenagers, it may be safe to say that it would be a landslide in favor of the natural product.
As to speculations, people say that there are a handful of side effects that come with the synthetic remedy for skincare, hence the switch or patriotism with the natural remedy.
There are different kinds of natural skincare products out there. Most of the time, these natural products do not only support the skin but it also has other functions beneficial to the body.
This short article will talk about three of the best natural skin treatments available.
Citronella Oil
The grass where you can extract citronella oil is native to Java and Sri Lanka.
It is popular as an insect repellent but it has many other uses.
To the skin, what it does is to soften it. This means that applying citronella oil will not only keep those insects away but it can also help the skin stay soft.
The citronella oil also has the capacity to control oily skin and help in excessive perspiration which usually happens to teenagers. This is why this oil can also be used as a deodorant.
Precaution however must be taken when using this substance against sensitive skin.
There are cases that when the skin is very sensitive, irritations might happen.
Hence, when you suspect that you have sensitive skin, then you must test it first with a very small amount before going all the way.
Pili or Elemi Oil
This oil is similar to the one previously discussed in a way that it can also be found in Asia, specifically in the islands of the Philippines.
It is taken from a tree where locally is known as Pili. It is a little spicy so extra care should be taken when directly applying to the skin.
Most of the time, the application to the skin is not direct but instead, it is applied by mixing it to massage oil or to bath soap.
The results will be the rejuvenation of the skin.
Sometimes, it can also be used for skin infections since it has a property of being antiseptic.
Just like citronella oil, elemi oil also reacts to very sensitive skin. So again, caution when applying must be strictly imposed.
Puchaput or Patchouli Oil
This oil is indigenous only in India and Malaysia, again, making it an Asian oil.
It has a lot of uses but the benefit for the skin is the most popular.
What it does to the skin is to rejuvenate it by regenerating the skin cells, making you appear younger and more beautiful.
The patchouli oil, known locally as the puchaput oil, is also good in wounds. It can heal wounds fast and it is also remarkable in a way that the wound healed will not leave so much for a scar.
There are many other natural oils that have good benefits for the skin.
They are effective and relatively safe to use because it’s natural.
However, just like what is discussed above, always be careful when you have very sensitive skin.
